My work is mainly in a realistic style to create pictures I hope others will also find beautiful, interesting and visually stimulating. I also enjoy using creative skills commercially to aid small and independent businesses. I continually take photos for reference of things that I find visually interesting and sometimes I find myself going back to a particular picture which I may decide to paint or draw. I feel to create a painting or drawing gives significance, importance and value to an image. Partially that someone has spent time and effort on producing the artifact but particularly with a realistic style also the decisions made where small details are exaggerated, elements and characteristics that may be more visible at another angle given increased attention and influences from the atmosphere and surroundings outside of the picture. I work in acrylic paints using only primary colours and white to mix my own colours and slowly build up a picture with a non-textured surface. Many of my paintings are for sale and I will also consider commissions.
